What we do

The mission of the Himalaya Foundation is to provide a home and family environment for poor, disadvantaged, and orphaned children below 15 years of age. The Foundation will endeavour to use the local educational system to provide formal schooling. The Foundation anticipates the establishment of a scholarship fund to assist children to pursue further schooling in India.

Long Term Vision

Playing together at the Nav Paryas ('New Home') orphanage
The long-term objective of the Himalaya Foundation is to acquire a 5-acre rural property and build an orphanage to accommodate approximately 200 children. The construction of this larger facility may take place over a period of several years. As the operation of the orphanage becomes institutionalized, the number of children may be increased progressively. Such an expansion will be funded by donations obtained from individuals, organizations, and businesses in both India and Canada. This larger rural facility would take the place of the smaller urban orphanage currently in use.
