As more and more children come to live at the orphanage, this website will provide timely and detailed updates about the children, their
education, and other long-term plans.
In the meantime, you can help. The
Himalaya Foundation anticipates
the following needs:
Ways you can help
You may
choose to contribute to the cost
of setting up the orphanage. The
combined total for the acquisition
of the land, the
construction of
the orphanage, and the furnishing
and educational materials will exceed
$1 million (CDN) over the next five
years.
You may
choose to sponsor a child. The cost
of providing proper accommodation,
clothing, nutritious food, medical
care, and education for an individual
child costs approximately $60 (CDN)
per month.
You may
choose to volunteer your time. There
is an enormous amount of work to
be done in the orphanage.The Himalaya
Foundation will provide room and
board at no charge to volunteers
willing to work with the children.
Contributions to the cost of their
room and board by volunteers who
are able are appreciated. More details
on this program are now available and we hope to welcome our first volunteers in the next few months.
